There have undoubtedly been a lot of questions about the Magic at small forward. Orlando has rotated DeQuan Jones, Maurice Harkless and J.J. Redick in the position ever since Hedo Turkoglu went out with a broken hand in the first game of the season. Turkoglu is the presumed starter when he is healthy and conditioned. The problem is he has not been there since he made his first comeback to the team. For whatever reason, Turkoglu was not completely ready to return. If you read between the lines -- all 15 players, including Al Harrington, participated in Saturday's practice -- Turkoglu said he is more comfortable with his still healing left hand and he could make a return to the floor soon. {youtube}eHn2iS91TgU{/youtube} In the five games Turkoglu played in his false start return, he struggled mightily shooting just 7 for 28 (25.0 percent) and averaging 5.6 points per game. The problem is 17 of the 18 points he scored in those five games came in the first two -- his debut against Toronto and the follow-up against Miami. Turkoglu said his hand did not feel comfortable and so the team shut him down. It is still uncertain when he will return to the floor. He can certainly make an impact though if he is healthy. Turkoglu reportedly entered this season in great shape and unfortunately had that early season injury derail him. When Turkoglu is healthy though he is another playmaker in the pick and roll, a good passer and a player defense have to respect. He will open things up offensively. Turkoglu also is a veteran defender and while he may not be great one on one, he knows where to be in help defense and would certainly be a good addition to a struggling defense. Jacque Vaughn is notoriously tight-lipped about when players are returning. It appears though that Turkoglu is feeling more comfortable and could be back (again) sooner rather than later.
