Tonight, Thursday, August 8th, Comcast SportsNet Houston will be airing “Legacy of Bigs,” a round-table discussion of the Houston Rockets’ great legends at 6:30p.m. Bill Worrell will be hosting this event with the starring of many important athletes such as Yao Ming, Clyde Drexler, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Ralph Sampson. This will be a historical gathering; it is the first time ever these great legends get together to discuss the history of the teams impact from the past, present, and what will be needed to improve the future of this organization. An organization such as the Rockets is a driven organization, they are fiercely competitive and excel. Throughout history, this organization has been continuously underestimated; although, these last few years the team has given Houston hope again. With the help of these former players, Dwight Howard will have no option but to meet the expectations set by the organization and the fans; he is the new face of the Rockets. Hakeem Olajuwon’s coaching will be the key to the organization’s success this year. Rumor has it; he will be hired as an assistant to give Howard’s game the polish it needs. Some of Hakeem’s accomplishments: a two-time NBA champion, a 12-time All-Star and a six-time All-NBA First Team member. He’s also a three-time blocks leader, five-time All-Defensive First Team member and one-time recipient of the Most Valuable Player award. Tonight will be a great opportunity for fans to be aware of their goals and a chance to become more knowledgeable of the organization as a whole. Different age groups will be viewing; therefore, it will serve as an opportunity for the younger generation to learn about the team’s past experiences (good and bad). The Houston Rockets have heart; this gathering is proof of it. Once a Rocket, always a Rocket; tune in Red Nation.
