Even though Dwight Howard has only been a member of the Houston Rockets for a short time, GM Daryl Morey says the newest face of the franchise, along with James Harden, will be calling the shots from now on.
Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik's names were tossed around in trade rumors amid the speculation that Howard would sign with the Rockets, however Houston's new center and Harden made it known they would rather the two stay in town.
And that is the way it is going to be, according to Morey.
"The reality is James and Dwight want to play with Jeremy and Omer," Morey said Saturday after introducing Howard in a news conference. "I've been kicked down to assistant GM. They're going to be here."
Only one problem for the "new Rockets GMs," Asik officially requested a trade in response to the news of Howard's signing, a request denied by the organization, because he likely thought his role with the team would be reduced greatly as the two pl...

As you might figure, the Houston Rockets are doing their best to market new star center Dwight Howard and it appears that one of the routes they are using is the billboard one. It seems that Shaquille O’Neal picked the wrong fight by calling out the city of Houston.
O’Neal criticized Dwight Howard earlier this month when the highly coveted All-Star center decided to leave Los Angeles and take his talents to Houston. O’Neal called Howard’s decision “expected,” and said “not a not a whole lot of people can handle being under the bright lights”...

Daryl Morey said Saturday that he does not intend to trade Jeremy Lin or Omer Asik.
“The reality is James (Harden) and Dwight (Howard) want to play with Jeremy and Omer,” Morey said. “I’ve been kicked down to assistant GM. They’re going to be here.”
Morey sees Asik as a luxury worth paying for.
“When we didn’t have Omer out there last year, we sucked,” Morey said...
Dwight Howard wanted things to be about him L.A., and in Mike D’Antoni’s fast paced, pick and roll system, that was not to be.
Howard has moved on, taking his talents to Houston, and the now the Lakers need to adjust. Lakers point guard Steve Nash is prepared to move on, and told the L.A. Times, that the “Lakers offense will be more fluid without Dwight Howard.”
Now that the dust has settled in NBA free agency and Dwight Howard has officially been announced as the crown jewel of the Houston Rockets offseason. The center sat down with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith to discuss his escape from L.A. in the interview, Dwight admits that it was difficult playing with Kobe but he also shouldered some of the responsibility.
My focus can not be on Kobe...

“WHO GOT DWIGHT HOWARD!!!”
LAS VEGAS It's hard to argue that there's a man in sports who's seen more drama over the past 18 months than Mike D'Antoni.
Since the beginning of 2012, the Lakers coach has been at the center of everything from Linsanity to the underperforming Lakers to Dwight Howard's free agency, and it's only now, a week after Howard's departure and almost a year...
After signing former Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard, the Houston Rockets needed to clear some cap space to afford his contract. The Philadelphia 76ers initially helped the Rockets by taking Royce White of Daryl Morey’s ledger via a trade. The Rockets presented this clip of past Houston big men during Dwight Howard’s introductory press conference. Moses Malone, Ralph Sampson, Elvin Hayes, Hakeem Olajuwon and Yao Ming. You’ve got some big shoes to fill, Dwight.
I will never ever be ashamed to say that I love the Los Angeles Lakers.I've proclaimed my love through the championships, the trades, the coaching malfunctions, and the superstar experiments, and I've celebrated the ups and downs alongside the rest of Lakersnation with pride.I showed Laker pride despite that fact that my fellow Laker brethren shamefully rioted and destroyed...
