The Hawks were outscored 27-9 in the third quarter tonight and they couldn’t recover from it.  The Hawks only shot 37.5% from the floor tonight and that’s pretty pathetic.  Josh Smith (16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) and Joe Johnson (15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Hawks tonight.  Zaza Pachulia finished up with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal in 30 minutes off the bench in this game due to Al Horford’s injury early in this game.  Willie Green pitched in with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 29 minutes off the bench.  The Hawks are now 7-4 on the year.

Josh Smith and Jeff Teague to the Lakers?

It seems as though every rumor that comes out of the woodworks in the NBA these days starts with the Los Angeles Lakers. Whether it’s Dwight Howard or Chris Paul it is clear they are in the market for new players. The most recent trade rumor that involves them is one I heard right after Al Horford’s injury. This proposed deal would send Pau Gasol to the Atlanta Hawks and the...

What Does Zaza Pachulia Bring to the Table?

Yesterday’s big injury news came with reports that Al Horford was expected to miss the next three-to-four months with a torn pectoral muscle in his left shoulder. It was an injury that happened in the first quarter of Wednesday game against the Pacers. It’s a huge blow to Horford’s fantasy owners. Even a best case scenario puts him back on the court at the very...

In the Paint 1/13

Yo T, I was trying a new chest workout...   News and Notes Al Horford Horford will be out 3-4 months with a torn pec, which means he will be out for the majority, if not the rest of the season.  As for his replacement Zaza Pachulia will step in to those center minutes. Pachuli isn’t going to replace the production of Horford, but he did get 10 and 10 last night. Carmelo...

Atlanta Hawks: Hawks 106, Nets 101

Newark, N.J.–Larry Drew has been pretty conservative with his starters’ minutes this season. Until tonight, when he suddenly decided to ride them and go all out to beat the Nets. The absence of Marvin Williams explains some of that but I thought the bench guys had OK stints in the first half, only to never be seen again (except for Zaza Pachulia). “Going into halftime...
