Tristan Thompson Thrives Coming Off the Bench for Cavaliers

Tristan Thompson’s line from the New Jersey game- 9 points on 4 of 5 shooting, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 fouls. In 17 minutes. I was out yesterday, and so I caught the Browns game on the radio. When the Cavs tipped off I was trying to keep tabs on that game through my phone while listening to the Browns and trying not to completely ignore my family. Right before the Cavaliers...

Young Cavaliers Displaying Copious Amounts of Chemistry Early On

Soon after the media horde dispersed from the locker of Cleveland Cavaliers rookie power forward Tristan Thompson, I walk over to ask him how it feels to be called “unbelievable” by teammate and mentor Antawn Jamison. I had just spent the last several minutes attempting to avoid the mosh pit of microphones, speaking with the veteran who had one of his better games of the season1...

Cavs' Irving gets message: Chill

Cleveland Cavaliers coach Byron Scott impressed this highly technical basketball strategy on rookie point guard Kyrie Irving on Monday:

Cavs Fall Victim in Their First Back-to-Back of 2011-12 Season

Live by the three. Die by the three? Surely, partaking in what was the second night of a back-to-back slate on the road against what is proving to be a terrible matchup for the Cavaliers plays a large role. A team comprised of largely inexperienced players taking their first trip down NBA Schedule Lane, less than 24 hours removed from the final whistle of a high-possession game against...

Rookies already making an impact in NBA

If theres one thing we should know about the NBA by now, its that you dont have to be a lottery pick to make an immediate impact. Granted, that may be the idea behind the NBA Draft, where the lousy teams get to celebrate for a day. But sometimes, the good teams win as well, discovering a gem later in the first round, or perhaps even in the second. Other times, the lousy teams get...

Paul Silas on Cavs Rookie Tristan Thompson: "I Think He's Going To Be A Heckuva ...

Many years prior to coaching the Cavaliers in Cleveland, Paul Silas was an All Star post player who collected over 10,000 rebounds while scoring over 10,000 points during his sixteen year NBA career. In 1963, while still at Creighton University, Silas averaged - averaged - 20.6 rebounds per game, and completed a three year college run that set the NCAA record for most rebounds ever...

Thoughts On Cavs Seven Game Journey Which Heads Now To Minnesota

To steal a line from a famous Chinese Proverb, the journey is the reward. The Chinese philosopher who first coined that phrase and never got any credit for it wasn't talking about these Cleveland Cavaliers specifically, but he could've been. Or she could've been.  Tuesday's win over the Bobcats was fun. Couple that with the fact that it was the second time these...
