Waiting For Next Year:
[Anderson Varejao] brings a toughness here and it’s contagious. It was contagious throughout the entire game, even through our bench. The bench is just as important as the starters, so it feels good to win. [...] I wasn’t really focused on my offense. I just wanted to help out my teammates. I only attempted six shots tonight and I have no problem doing that. I get my teammates involved and that’s the most important thing. Hopefully, we can have more games like this and whether I score the ball or not, I’m still happy.
- Cavaliers rookie point guard Kyrie Irving, who shot 1-of-7 in the Cavaliers’ recent win over the New York Knicks, on his teammate Anderson Varjeao. Varejao pulled down 16 rebounds in the win, including a season-high eight offensive boards.

Johnson: Kyrie Irving’s Confidence Has Grown Throughout Year
[Kyrie Irving] is a nice, young player. I obviously didn’t get to see a lot of him in college, but he’s a nice, young player. He’s shooting the ball really well; in our first game [against the Cavs], we went under his screens and he made us pay by hitting a few threes. He’ll turn the ball over, but point guards – young or veterans – all turn the...

Anderson Varejao, All-Star?
The last time the New York Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers at home was November 29, 2006. Anderson Varejao was not about to let that date be usurped by one considerably more recent.
Recording his ninth double-double of the season in a 10-point win over the Knicks on Wednesday evening, the man whom Clevelander’s endear as “Wild Thing” pulled down a season-high...

CLEVELAND, OHIO – In the case of Kyrie Irving and the (7-11) Cleveland Cavaliers, it was too little too late.

James says Irving shows flashes of CP3
MIAMI Dont call Kyrie Irving another LeBron James just because hes also a No. 1 pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers. But if you want to call him another Chris Paul, that might be OK.
In fact, James said he sees plenty of similarities between the Cavaliers rookie point guard and Paul, the Los Angeles Clippers' star point.
He reminds me of CP early in his days, as well," said...
Chicago Bulls 114, Cleveland Cavaliers 75
The Cavs only shot 30.3% from the floor and they were outrebounded 54-38 by the Bulls last Friday Night in this debacle at home. Cavs Continue Domination Of Knicks, As New York Has No Answer For Andy
I stood watching Mike D'Antoni's pregame press conference and walked away before the game literally feeling sorry for the guy. About an hour later, I finally asked myself why it was I cared exactly? I suppose I don't. But if I did care, I later decided, if I was related to the guy, delivered him newspapers as a kid, or had some remote rooting interesting in his team&...

LeBron James says Kyrie Irving reminds him of Chris Paul
Kyrie Irving has been impressive this season. Sure, he was the No. 1 overall pick for the Cavaliers, so you had a feeling he wasn’t going to suck, but after he spent most of his one year at Duke injured we weren’t totally sure what to expect. He’s not the explosive athlete that Derrick Rose…
