Thursday’s edition of S.I.’s Hot Clicks contained a lot of gems (‘sup, Ashley Sky?), but none more enjoyable and reassuring than this compilation video of NBA players airballing shots. The first day of my Houston Rockets fandom was met with Jeremy Lin throwing up a Brandon Stroud-esque airball from three-point range, so it’s nice to see everyone doing it, and not just star players from a team I’ve chosen to shackle myself to for the rest of my life.Highlights include LeBron James’ epic lob to nothing, Dennis Rodman trying (and failing) to pull off assy trick shots and Blake Griffin being the best Blake Griffin he can be. “Two free throws, a foot short, both of them.” It’s schadenfreude masquerading as a highlight reel, and I think you’ll enjoy it.Video is below. The post It’s Friday, So Here’s The Ultimate Airball Compilation appeared first on With Leather.

The Royce White Experiment Is Inching Closer To Disaster
The Houston Rockets took a huge gamble selecting Royce White at No. 16 in June’s NBA Draft. White was a beast his one year at Iowa State (13.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5 assists) but his draft stock plummeted thanks to a well-documented anxiety disorder. A major crux of his situation: White has a tremendous fear of flying. Unfortunately for White, the NBA travel schedule is arguably...
Royce White Hints He May Quit NBA, Says Health More Important Than Basketball
Plenty of people expected Royce White‘s anxiety struggles to complicate his time in the NBA.
But few expected it to happen so quickly — or to such an extent.
White and his employer, the Houston Rockets, have been at odds in recent days over what White says is the team not following through on promises about White’s anxiety issues. White was sent to the team’s D League affiliate...

Rockets hold off comeback-minded Hornets
HOUSTON -- The newly constructed Houston Rockets showed Wednesday that they could deal with an unexpected reversal of fortunes. Two nights earlier, the Rockets erased a 17-point deficit, blew past the Heat, and then watched as LeBron James led Miami to victory late. On Wednesday night, the Rockets fashioned a seemingly insurmountable lead, only for the New Orleans Hornets to methodically...
Blazers pull out another OT win over Rockets
PORTLAND -- Overtime victories over the Houston Rockets are getting to be habit for the Portland Trail Blazers. Nicolas Batum tied his career high with 35 points and rookie Damian Lillard put up 18 of his season-high 27 points after intermission as Portland upended Houston 119-117 in overtime Friday night at the Rose Garden. It was the second overtime win over the Rockets in...
Day 16: Where the Sixers Have an Appetite for (their own) Destruction
Line of the Night: It was only a matter of time before Kevin Durant (2.82 WARP) broke out in a big way; and that came last night against the Grizzlies, where Durant scored 34 points, adding 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and a couple blocks. It came in a whopping 44 minutes, but if you’re the Thunder you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do when you don’t have the league’s...

Jae C. Hong/AP
Comedy Central’s Workaholics might be more than just a satirical, hippied-out, sarcastic dedication to today’s working class (who knew?).
Between the drugs, drinking, and controlled substances that Anders, Blake and Adam consume on a daily basis, the troubled trio manages to spit out some important (and strange) life lessons; lessons that the sport of basketball...
