How effective will Amar’e be in his return?credit: espn.com The New York Knicks have been one of the major talking points around the NBA so far with an impressive 20-8 record. Lost in the shuffle is the man who was once seen as the building block of the franchise, Amar’e Stoudemire, who has yet to play a game this season. A knee injury has kept Stoudemire sidelined while the Knicks have been winning without him, but it looks as if his return will be sooner rather than later. Via NBC Sports, it looks like the Knicks and Amar’e are using January 1st as their new target date. Amar’e Stoudemire finally has a realistic target date for his season debut following knee surgery. He said Jan. 1, 2013 is “a possibility.” It’s the first time Stoudemire has used a specific date. It will be interesting to see how Stoudemire returns, as many believe that he is a player quickly on the downside of his career. Once an explosive, almost unguardable power forward, it’s up in the air what the Knicks will get out of him for the rest of his contract. Mike Woodson will have to juggle his rotation a little to make minutes for Stoudemire, which may mean less minutes for Carmelo Anthony at power forward. -Mark Evans, Assistant Manager/Editor of Content Follow us on Twitter The post January 1st Could Be Amare’s Return To Knicks appeared first on Pass The Pill.
