Leave it to TNT’s Inside the NBA host Ernie Johnson, to be the saver of awkward moments. Last night, Nuggets center JaVale McGee appeared on Inside the NBA for a brief interview with his friendenemy and frequent critic Shaquille O’Neal. After scoring zero points, two rebounds and two blocks in 14 minutes of play during the Denver Nuggets 107-92 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, you had to know Shaq would go after the young fellow. However, the segment took an awkward turn, after McGee started off calling Shaq a bully, while referring to Shaq’s “Shaqtin’ A Fool,” which showcases funny plays within the course of a game, but McGee wasn’t having it tonight. He may have been scoreless but they won, so respect the man or else. Or else, he’ll force a live segment to go awkward quickly by using a racial slur to describe Shaq’s show. This is exactly what happens when you don’t have Charles Barkley on set to keep everyone under control. The interview couldn’t be saved after that. McGee ended by reminding Shaq, who recently trued 41, he’s old as dirt. He could have exited without saying that corny line. Although Shaq attempted to make nice by informing McGee he too was a blooper during his younger years, the damage was already done. From the opening seconds McGee seemed uncomfortable participating in an interview with the same man who has a show, which almost entirely pokes fun at him. I give him kudos for doing the interview, but you have to maintain self control. TNT can laugh about it because they won’t get a call from the NBA asking them to pay a fine for using a racial slur on live television. They will be calling you McGee. You have to be wiser, and get some better comebacks in the process. I guess it’s safe to say he will once again appear on Shaqtin’ A Fool.

JaVale McGee swats Matt Barnes and 'autographs' the ball (Video)

Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee had a monster block on a layup attempt by Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes in the third quarter of Thursday night's 107-92 victory at the Pepsi Center. After McGee swatted the ball out of bounds, he grabbed the ball and pretended to autograph it for posterity. McGee only played 14 minutes in the game and had no points, but certainly...

JaVale McGee slips up on name of segment

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, 107-92, as Denver used their homecourt, athleticism, and fresh legs to their advantage.  JaVale McGee was the player that the ‘Inside The NBA” cast interviewed post-game, and as we should expect the unexpected with McGee, the same rang true when he called Shaqtin-A-Fool something [...]The post JaVale McGee...

George Karl goes nuts after call

Nuggets coach, George Karl, took disagreeing with a foul call to a whole new level Saturday night in a matchup with the Timberwolves. Watch Karl go ballistic when point guard, Ty Lawson, was called for the offensive foul on Ricky Rubio and march up the sideline as he shoves his own player, Wilson Chandler, out of the way to get a better angle to launch expletives at the referee:

Fan Punches Former Nuggets Guard Rudy Fernandez

Rudy Fernandez most recently played in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets in 2011-12, where the guard averaged 8.6 points, 2.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 31 games. Following the season, the Spain native decided to return to Real Madrid, where he’s been stirring up trouble recently. Real Madrid played against the Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania Thursday where Fernandez was punched by...

Denver Nuggets Add Element of Danger to Western Conference With Wilson Chandler’s Recent Play

For so long, Wilson Chandler has seemed to provide only a glimpse of his vast talents, like the tattoo of his daughter that peeks above the neckline of his jersey. Chandler did it all at DePaul — which could have been a pretty cool title for a player of the year campaign. (“Wilson Chandler does it all, at DePaul! Sponsored by Nike!”) But he never led the Blue Demons beyond...

Rudy Fernandez Punched By Fan Following Game

Rudy Fernandez was punched in the face by a Lithuanian fan following Real Madrid's 105-104 win over Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday.

Wilson Chandler with thunderous dunk over Matt Barnes

Thursday night’s Nuggets-Clippers game is a fast-pace dunk contest. Anyone surprised?  As announcer Ian Eagle said of the dunk from Nuggets’ Wilson Chandler, “A grown man move at the rim.” Chandler’s two handed ****-back slam made the Nuggets bench react like this: [Bleacher Report, Beyond the Buzzer]

Lawson thinks Nuggets can win it all

When listing off the contenders for the Western Conference title, you have got the Oklahoma City Thunder, the San Antonio Spurs, probably the Los Angeles Clippers and I might even give you the Memphis Grizzlies. But despite their 41-22 record, including an astounding 27-3 at home, nobody is really jumping on the Denver Nuggets bandwagon. Point guard Ty Lawson says despite the...

Nuggets 111, Timberwolves 88

Ty Lawson matched his season high with 32 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, and the Denver Nuggets beat the injury-depleted Minnesota Timberwolves 111-88 Saturday night to stretch their home winning streak to 13 games, their longest in 14 years. Corey Brewer had 15 points, while Danilo Gallinari and Andre Iguodala added 11 apiece for the Nuggets, who have won eight in...

Clippers-Nuggets Preview

While the Denver Nuggets' home winning streak already is quite impressive, the quality of competition they've faced during the run makes it even more noteworthy. It likely won't be easy adding the surging Los Angeles Clippers to that list. Denver seeks a 12th straight home win Thursday night against a Los Angeles team that has won five straight road games. The Nuggets...

Timberwolves-Nuggets Preview

The Denver Nuggets are on the verge of securing their longest single-season home win streak in 24 years, and a matchup with a last-place opponent would appear to provide just the opportunity to accomplish that feat. The Minnesota Timberwolves, though, are one of the few teams to win in Denver this season and will seek another victory there Saturday night while trying to record their...
