JaVale McGee, who was born in Flint, Michigan and is an American citizen, may end up playing for the Philippines’ national basketball team, even though he has no apparent ties to the country. A bill has been filed in the House of Representatives in the Philippines to naturalize the Nuggets center and make him eligible to play for the country’s team. The bill was filed by Antipolo City representative Robbie Puno and cites McGee’s “remarkable track record in the United States’ professional basketball scene.” Apparently they’ve never seen this video. The Nuggets believe their young team played well enough in 2011-12 that they can bring back most of the same cast. The Nuggets went 38-28 in the regular season, but their record undoubtedly...
