JaVale McGee rarely fails to entertain, whether he’s throwing down monster dunks, missing them or finding other ways to make mischief on a basketball court.
Off the court, he’s just as entertaining, and is taking his fashion cues from Hollywood, apparently.
The Nuggets center posted a picture of his shoes on Instagram recently, and written on the sneaks is the tagline from Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained. The line of dialogue from the trailer is uttered by Jamie Foxx, but if you’re looking for a sports connection here, you’re not likely to find one. In any case, check out McGee’s kicks in the photo below.

Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee hit his first career 3-point shot at the buzzer to end the third quarter during Tuesday night's 92-78 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
McGee hit a 27-foot 3-pointer and then pretended to mix something up and taste it with his fingers, a celebration move referred to by game commentators as "finger-lickin' good".
Not only did the Denver Nuggets snap the Los Angles Clippers’ 17-game win streak, but to add insult to injury Nuggets center Javale McGee hit his first career three pointer of his career during the game. With 1.3 seconds remaining in the third quarter, the Clippers left McGee wide open off the inbounds pass. Without hesitation and showing off a pretty smooth release, McGee was...
Javale McGee tends to be a guy that makes himself look stupid on the basketball court. Like this time when he fell down and threw the ball into the crowd. Last night he did it again. He knocked down a three pointer at the buzzer and celebrated like he won the NBA title. Just a little overboard for a random shot in a 16 point game. Well, in his defense, it was the first three...
The Nuggets knocked the Clippers off their 17 game winning streak on New Year’s Day. The Clippers looked a bit sluggish and the Nuggets protected their record as the best home team in the NBA moving to an 11-1 record. The Cherry on the Nuggets sundae, JaVale McGee hit his first three pointer, EVER. So [...]
As the Denver Nuggets stopped the Los Angeles Clippers 17 game winning streak on New Year’s Day. One player in particular had some fun along the way. JaVale McGee stepped out past the three-point line for the final shot in the third quarter and drained the first ever trey in his [...]
It was a momentous occasion in more ways than one at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night. The Denver Nuggets put an end to the Los Angeles Clippers' 17-game winning streak after dismantling the visitors, 92-78. And as if that wasn't reason enough to celebrate, Nuggets forward JaVale McGee connected for his first made 3-pointer of his career, as well. The majestic shot came as...
In another classic edition of "That's So JaVale", Nuggets center JaVale McGee hit a buzzer-beating three pointer against the Los Angeles Clippers for his first made three of the season. After hitting the shot, McGee celebrated the accomplishment by pretending to mix a food item and then licking his fingers after he tasted it:
As the seconds wound down on the Nuggets’ victory over the Clippers on Tuesday, Andre Miller plopped down into one of the cushioned seats on the Denver Nuggets’ bench, took a deep breath and began to untie his shoes. He looked a little like a factory laborer or a construction worker huffing down in his easy chair at the end of a long day, unlacing his boots to ease the pressure...
Andre Miller scored the 15,000th point of his NBA career on a mid-range jumper in the first quarter against Minnesota, becoming the eighth player to score that many and dish out at least 7,500 assists.
Oscar Robertson, Gary Payton, John Stockton, Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, Jason Kidd and Steve Nash also have accomplished the feat.
In typical Miller fashion, the 36-year-old downplayed...
Where does Andre Miller rank among NBA point guards all time? Well, his coach says maybe top five. For real.
(As one fan, @Alf954, tweeted when told of the proclamation: “Alphabetically by first name?”)
“I’m taking about a true point guard,” Nuggets coach George Karl said, “who plays the game the way a point guard should play, not (necessarily) with the 3-ball and the...
The Los Angeles Clippers had their 17 game winning streak snapped Tuesday night after a 92-78 loss to Denver. The Nuggets who essentially led the whole way took a 16 point lead into the final quarter after JaVale McGee was able to hit a three pointer as time expired in the third. Not to mention [...]
By earning an impressive win despite the absence of their starting point guard, the Denver Nuggets continued to show why they're one of the best home teams in the NBA. A visit from the slumping Minnesota Timberwolves doesn't appear likely to change their status.
The Nuggets seek a ninth straight win at the Pepsi Center on Thursday night when they face the Timberwolves, who...
DENVER (AP) -- Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has left Minnesota's game against the Denver Nuggets after spraining a finger on his right hand in the third quarter.
His return Thursday night was questionable.
Love was sliding past a Nuggets player in the lane when he suddenly clutched at his hand and headed into the training room. Love had 12 points and 17 rebounds before departing...
Slam! I shut my truck door with an adequate feeling of uneasiness as my tickets were scanned and Fred — I call him Fred, anyways — ask “Hey, Smiles, are the Nuggets going to win tonight?” I have this scowl on my face, but it instantaneously turns into a grin, and I give Fred my [...]The post Denver Nuggets End Los Angeles Clippers 17-Game Winning Streak appeared first on The NBA Mistress.
