I know everybody loves a juicy trade rumor. But if anybody throws out Stephen Jackson speculation about coming to Dallas, please disregard it and view the people who promote such drivel to be out of any sort of loop. Jackson is not coming to the Mavericks. Not unless those additional three years at more than $27 million (after 2009-10) are magically whisked away. And the same goes for Monta Ellis, although you can sort of make a case for him because he's so much younger. Remember, the reason Golden State got Jackson (and Al Harrington) a few years back was to jettison a ton of money in the form of Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy. Now, the Warriors are trying to do it again. Pity the team that falls for that. And it won't be the Mavericks. --Eddie Sefko
