The Boston Celtics lost game two of their current series with the Cleveland Cavaliers at home, and that set up a huge game three in Cleveland. The winner of game three went up 2-1 in the series, and the Celtics found a way to get the job done. Had they lost, they would’ve been down in the series with another road game coming up in game four. That would not have been good.

Losing in game two was a wakeup call for the Celtics in their first round series against the Miami Heat, and it looks like it might’ve been this time around as well. Boston wasn’t messing around on Saturday night, and they ended up beating the Cavaliers 106-93.

The Celtics came into game three on a mission. They knew that losing that one would’ve been detrimental, and they weren’t going to let it happen. Jaylen Brown revealed what their mindset was heading into game three.

“Just trying to take all of it, I think that’s what we need,” Jaylen Brown said after the win, according to a tweet from Celtics on CLNS. “I think we just need everybody to be on the same page and everybody to come out with the right effort, and that’s 85% of the battle right there. We come out and play hard, and we’re on the same page and the rest will take care of itself. We’ve got enough talent in the locker room to beat teams but if we’re not on the same page and we aren’t playing hard, that’s when we get ourselves in trouble. Making sure before the game, in film, in shoot around, talking to everybody, touching everybody, letting everyone know like ‘hey, we’re not here to play around. We didn’t come to Cleveland for the weather, so, let’s go.'”

Boston certainly came into game three with the right mindset, and it paid off. The effort was there on Saturday, and the team was on the same page. It resulted in a win, and the Celtics are now up 2-1 in the series.

One of the best players on the court on Saturday night was Jaylen Brown as he finished with 28 points. Only Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell had more as they both finished with 33 points. Brown was fantastic all night as he finished 13-17 from the floor, and he was 2-3 from three. He was a big reason why the Celtics got the win.

Boston will look to go up 3-1 on the Cavaliers in game four which will take place on Monday night. The game will be in Cleveland and it will get started at 7:00 ET on TNT. The Celtics are currently favored by 8.5 points in that one.
