Gordon Haywad scored 17 points, Enes Kanter had 15 and the Utah Jazz beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 106-84 on Wednesday night to snap a three-game losing streak. Paul Millsap started 7 of 7 for Utah and finished with 14 points, and Jamaal Tinsley had 12 on 6-of-8 shooting. Tinsley started in place Mo Williams, who learned earlier in the day he will be out six weeks after opting for surgery on his right thumb. The game marked the return of Andrei Kirilenko, who played 10 seasons for the Jazz before being allowed to leave via free agency two years ago. The crowd warmly welcomed the small forward nicknamed AK-47 with a round of applause during introductions. He hit his first three shots but finished with just 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Alexey Shved and Kevin Love led Minnesota (14-14) with 13 apiece and Love added 10 rebounds but neither shot well.

Wolves' Love battling slump with hard work

MINNEAPOLIS As the clock ticked to zero on the Timberwolves' 111-107 win over Phoenix on Sunday, Kevin Love walked to the sideline and enveloped Shawn Respert in a hug. This wasn't just an "oh, hey, we won, let's hug" sort of embrace. That's hardly Love's style. It was a pointed move after the power forward finished the night with 23 points and 18...

Utah Will Struggle to Stay in the Playoff Hunt Without Mo Williams

As we mentioned yesterday, Mo Williams is expected to miss six weeks when he undergoes surgery on his thumb today.  In his absence, the Utah Jazz will have to find a way to keep winning and stay in the playoff hunt.  It's a tall order. Minnesota Timberwolves Forward Lazar Hayward Says He Has Seen ‘Spirit,’ But Has Not Talked to One Yet

When Lazar Hayward was growing up, he says he would “see some things,” but when he described them to his friends, their reaction was predictable. “Lazar, you might need some help.” The Minnesota Timberwolves forward has not let their skepticism dissuade him from trying to keep seeing those things — “spiritual things,” in his words — and while he was unsigned earlier...

It's where he has so many friends, so many acquaintances after 10 seasons that he thinks he might know everyone in the first 20 rows of the arena. It's where he learned English, "the bad words first, but then you're got that base, and you're playing around...
