The Boston Celtics withdrew Jeff Green’s qualifying offer, making the young hybrid forward an unrestricted free agent who could theoretically be signed right now by any NBA team, but likely won’t considering he’s having heart surgery two days from now on Jan. 9.That’s because the Boston Celtics, in a move that was not made public, withdrew Green’s qualifying offer in mid-December, right around the time he failed his physical and had his one-year, $9 million contract voided. The 5 Worst Days For Celtics Fans In The Past 25 Years
5. Februay 19, 2009- While playing Utah, Kevin Garnett has a career-altering injury. Let's be real here folks, he hasn't been the same since then. Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Ray Allen expected to play tonight against Indiana
No surprise here. Allen will be needed more tonight than he would have on Wednesday against New Jersey. Hopefully his sick day didn't cool off his shooting touch at all. The man's been a machine all year long and the Celtics could really use another off-the-charts performance from him tonight.
Ray Allen Highlights vs Pacers
Returning to the lineup after missing one game due to flu-like symptoms, Ray Allen provided the only consistent offense for the C's. Once again, Ray shot the ball amazingly well. Check out the highlights below of Ray's performance.

Recap: Pacers dominate the glass, win going away
Â
I'll start by quoting reader Perry Manno in the comments of our game preview:
Winning the battle of the glass is at a premium tonight. Indy leads the league in second chance opportunities. Psycho T, West and Hibbert averaging 3.5 OR/night. When PP crashes the boards we win, so let's keep that pattern intact
The Celtics got dominated on the boards tonight.Â...
Celtics Stuck In Purgatory
Over the past few weeks, it has become evident that the Celtics are not only old, but may no longer be a contender for an NBA title. Celtics Live Blog: Ray Allen Questionable for Friday's Matchup With Pacers
8:45 a.m.: The Celtics could be without their top long-range shooter again Friday, with shooting guard Ray Allen questionable against the Indiana Pacers. Allen's absence due to flue-like symptoms Wednesday against the Nets did not prevent the Celtics from stretching their win streak to four straight games, but the Pacers are more formidable than the Nets. Indiana (4-2) returns...
