Despite feeling a bit down, dejected and deflated over the Houston Rockets making a six-player trade, among other moves, that shook up the team’s roster, Jeremy Lin still came out and played, performing brilliantly in a thrilling 122-119 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder inside the friendly confines of the Toyota Center. Lin was on fire — as was teammate James Harden, who had a career-high in points (45) — finishing with 29 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. Even with his fantastic game, it nevertheless appears that one Mr. Jeremy Lin may have been a bit keyed up for the game, as the guard was whistled for his first career technical foul. Lin was upset at getting T’d up for the first time, as the $2,000 that comes along with a technical foul is money straight out of his wallet. But Lin decided to look at the lost cash in a unique way: By equating the $2,000 in the terms of how many McDonald’s McChicken sandwiches or tacos from Jack in the Box it will cost him. In fact, Lin took to Twitter to announce the fast food equivalent of the $2,000 fine. Got my first ever technical last night and lost $2000…makes me angry when i realize thats 2000 mcchickens or 4000 jack in the box tacos — Jeremy Lin (@JLin7) February 21, 2013   That’s a lot of tacos, man. Being a resident of the Midwest — Minnesota, specifically — there sadly are no Jack in the Boxes nearby, so I have never had the pleasure of enjoying a taco from the fine fast food establishment, nor anything else from Jack in the Box, although I have heard many of the items on the menu are a treat-and-a-half. McChickens, on the other hand, I have vast eating experience related to those super-mayonnaisey morsels of McChicken goodness. Losing out on 2,000 of those bad boys? That’s gotta hurt. Although I’m pretty sure if Jeremy Lin checks his couch cushions he can scratch together enough change to hit the Drive-Thru for a couple of processed chicken sandwiches. And yet, I’m left to wonder if Jeremy Lin has as close a relationship with either McDonald’s or Jack in the Box that Justin Verlander has with Taco Bell. That would be tough to top.
