We all remember the media madness that surrounded Jeremy Lin last season when he started playing for the New York Knicks. Linsanity took place in one of the few places where it could be so overhyped: New York City. Lin become a folk hero literally overnight, and the world suddenly started caring about the mediocre Knicks.
This isn’t an easy thing to handle for someone who really never had much of an influence in the NBA. Lin bounced around in the D-League and the end of various benches around the league, and was really thrown into the fire when the Knicks were desperate for point guard play. He handled it all admirably and humbly, from always saying the right things in interviews to the humorous stories of him sleeping on the couch of teammate Landry Fields.
