Yesterday we told you the story of Knicks point guard and overnight sensation Jeremy Lin.
Then promptly, last night, Lin went for a career high 38 points and 7 assists in a victory over the visiting Lakers.
Lin scored 89 points in his first three starts. According to Elias, that’s the most points by any player in his first three starts since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976.
If you missed last night’s game, here (via the CBS Eye on Basketball blog) is a video of all of Lin’s field goals:
Reader Sam Angean sent me a link to an article by Timothy Dalrymple, “Jeremy Lin and the Soft Bigotry of Low Expectations.” Dalrymple, a philosopher and former top-ranked NCAA gymnast, looks at the stereotypes that plague Asian-American athletes and particularly Lin. It’s worth a read if you have time today.
Finally, here’s one Knicks fan’s response to Linsanity (and to Carmelo Anthony’s recent struggles):

Line of the Night: Kevin Love (2.78) did something against the Knicks last night that he’s done five other times in his career – and that’s go for at least 30 and 20 in a game. Love scored 32 points and grabbed 21 rebounds and despite that, was overshadowed by a certain PG on the other team who hit the game-winning free throw. It’s “only’ the second...

Dut Went To A Rodeo and Other Stuff From The Weekend
Hi, Dut!
You can imagine my surprise when I read that our very own Dut went to a goddamn rodeo at Nationwide on Saturday night. I can't wait to find out why. "Free tickets" is not a good excuse for such a "Steelers fan" event. You aren't better than much, but you are BETTER THAN THIS. I think that Li'l Poopson hit the nail on the head though with...
