According to a recent post by ProSportsDaily, Baron Davis could become the New York Knicks new starting point guard, pushing Jeremy Lin to the bench.

Said the article:

There could be a point guard controversy brewing in the Big Apple with recent rumbling that Baron Davis may replace overnight sensation Jeremy Lin in the New York Knicks’ starting lineup.

The buzz picked up speed when Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni called the pair a “two-headed monster’’ in the backcourt.

However this doesn’t mean that coach Mike D’Antoni will bench Jeremy Lin. As the New York Post points out, it’s more likely D’Antoni would play Lin and Davis together, with Davis at the point.

“You have more playmaking — we’ll see if that’s good or not,’’ D’Antoni told the New York post about pairing the two. “They can play together because Baron can guard bigger guards. But somebody’s not playing. You have to be really good together.’’

In addition, the Post noted that, “The Knicks front office probably would not want to see Lin lose his starting job because he has become a marketing cash cow for the organization on the sale of Linsanity shirts alone.”

In 23 games for the Knicks (13 of which he has started), Lin is averaging 14.6 points and 6 assists per game. Davis is averaging 3.2 points and 5 assists per game in the five games he has played.
