Ahead of the final two episodes of the ESPN docuseries "The Last Dance" that recalled the Utah Jazz losing the 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals series to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, former Utah guard and Hall of Famer John Stockton was able to crack jokes at his own expense.
Stockton was one of several 1990s NBA stars, alongside names such as Shaquille O’Neal and David Robinson, who participated in a Zoom conference call before episode 9 of "The Last Dance" debuted on ESPN and ESPN2.
As Trevor Allen of KSL Sports wrote, Stockton was asked if any current players reminded him of himself during his storied career.
"Yes, Giannis Antetokounmpo," the league's all-time leader in assists responded, eliciting laughter from the others on the call.
Per Basketball-Reference, Stockton checked-in at 6-foot-1 while with the Jazz. Antetokounmpo, the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player who is affectionately known as "The Greek Freak," stands at 6-foot-11.
What we're saying is that Stockton and Antetokounmpo could be twins.
