Jonas Jerebko, a 2 year power forward who will probably be a backup this season, is predicting the playoffs for his Detroit Pistons. Yes, the same Pistons that went 25-41 last season and really weren’t much of a threat to anyone, and also went 7-26 on the road.
To put it nicely, the Pistons have not been very good the past few seasons. We can leave it at that.
I know there has been a lot of concern regarding the effects of concussions in the NFL, but maybe someone should test Jonas Jerebko for a concussion after he said this.
Via ESPN Insider:
“We got a deep team,” Jerebko said in a recent interview. “Our goal was the playoffs last year. We played playoff basketball, but we started off the season horrible.
“We’re going to get better. We got a young team, and we’re going to make the playoffs.”
This is optimistic, for sure. The Pistons really haven’t done anything since the Chauncey Billups, Rip Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace era.
This team seems to just have a bunch of parts that don’t really work together very well. Rodney Stuckey still has a long way to go to become the player the team thinks he can be, questions surround Andre Drummond, and we all know about the Charlie Villanueva disaster.
Jonas Jerebko averaged 9 points and 5 rebounds last season for the Detroit Pistons. He will likely come off the bench this season, with Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond in the front court.
