The 12th annual Jordan Brand Classic that showcases the nation’s premier high school all-star game is moving to Michael Jordan’s birthplace. The game will be played in Brooklyn on April 13, 2013 at Barclays Center. The game used to be played in Charlotte, North Carolina. High school athletes play in this came to show off their talents. They are looking to be the next NBA greats like Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, or Blake Griffin. All three of these current NBA stars have played in the Jordan Brand Classic game. ESPN2 will be airing the game in April. Pictured left is a young Kevin Durant who played in 2006. Besides the National game the Jordan Brand will be hosting a regional game too. The regional game takes the top prep players for the New York area and has a game that sees the city kids take on other kids from the suburbs. There is also an international game that showcases the top 16 and under players from all over the world. Larry Miller, who is the President of Jordan Brand shared his thoughts on the game moving to Brooklyn. “After spending two great years at Charlotte’s Time Warner Cable Arena, we decided to bring the Jordan Brand Classic to Brooklyn at Barclays Center.
