And so, another member of the Los Angeles Lakers has joined the purple and gold’s crosstown rivals. According to Broderick Turner from the L.A. Times, Jordan Farmar has agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers worth $4.2 million. The second year is a player option. While the Lakers appeared to be interest in retaining Farmar’s services, the team are currently waiting to see what LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony decide to do before committing salary cap space to other free agents such as Farmar. Jordan Farmar on leaving the Lakers: “At the end of the day, it wasn’t in the cards for me. They didn’t want to make it happen."— Brad Turner (@BA_Turner) July 6, 2014 Jordan Farmar on choosing LAC over LAL: "It was, 'Yeah, we like you, we'd love to have you here,' but I didn't know what I was waiting for"— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) July 6, 2014 More Farmar: "You don't know who the coach is. You don't know who I am going to be playing with. They made no commitment to me on that part"— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) July 6, 2014 At the end of the day, Farmar wanted to stay in Los Angeles and the Clippers were offering him a deal. The Clippers became interested in Farmar after Darren Collison bolted for Sacramento last week, according to Mark Medina from the L.A. Daily News. Jodie Meeks became the first member of the Lakers to leave town after accepting an $19.5 million deal with the Detroit Pistons, while Chris Kaman signed a two-year, $9.8 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers a few days later. .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 300px; height: 250px; } @media(min-width: 500px) { .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 300px; height: 250px; } } @media(min-width: 800px) { .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 336px; height: 280px; } } The post Jordan Farmar agrees to two-year, $4.2 million deal with Clippers; wasn’t prepared to wait for potential Lakers offer appeared first on Lakerholicz.com.
