New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith was arrested on Thursday in Miami Beach for failing to appear in court on a traffic matter.  Smith was cited in May 2011 for riding a scooter without a valid driver’s license and was ordered to stand trial on July 25, 2011. When the Knicks bricklayer failed to appear in court a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.  The arresting Miami Beach police officers were the same police officers that cited Smith last year.  The arrest affidavit states that the officers “were aware of a possible bench warrant for a previous Miami Beach arrest.” J.R.'s license was suspended in 2009, because of his sentence in 2007 for a reckless driving car accident that killed one of his friends.  Smith's suspension ran through March 2012.  Smith who has a $2.5 million player option with the Knicks for the 2012-2013 NBA season has had his license suspended five different times.  To be honest, Smith should have been arrested for his atrocious shooting performance in the Knicks playoff series loss to the Miami Heat.  The chucking shooting guard shot 32% (24-76) from the field. And why is he wearing a murse in the abvove picture?
