It’s been a great week for J.R. Smith. The recently named NBA Sixth Man of the Year and his New York Knicks teammates are riding high at the moment in light of the team’s 2-0 series lead over an offensively challenged Boston Celtics that appears to be aging right in front of our eyes. The above yearbook photo from Smith’s youth has caught fire on the interwebs thanks to Terez Owens, and as you can see, Smith’s priorities were well in order even during the halcyon days of his youth. His yearbook caption: “Get chicks or die tryin’,” obviously a clever variation on the classic 2003 50 Cent album, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” At least “Get chicks or die tryin’” is what we have to assume is how his yearbook quote read as the end of the quote is cut-off in the photo. Maybe it’s “Get chicks or die tryptophan.” You know, because he hates how tired he feels after Thanksgiving dinner. Although I have no idea why getting chicks and wishing the end of amino acid that occurs in proteins believed to cause drowsiness have to be mutually exclusive things. TweetThe post J.R. Smith’s yearbook quote: ‘Get chicks or die tryin” (photo) appeared first on Sportress of Blogitude.
