The Other Paper:
The Oklahoma City Thunder opened the NBA’s 2013 preseason schedule on Saturday morning, playing Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul as part of the Global Games that will see teams play eight preseason games in eight cities, in six countries and territories.
The Thunder was already without Russell Westbrook — who will now miss at least the first month of the regular season after undergoing an additional knee surgery last week — and lost the services of Kendrick Perkins late in the first half, although to something that looks to be far less serious.
Perkins dislocated a finger while battling for a rebound, and as seen in the video clip, he did his best to pop it back in place himself. He was apparently unsuccessful, however, as Perkins didn’t start the second half; rookie Steven Adams got the nod in his place.
The Thunder led 48-42 at the break, behind 20 points and six rebounds from Kevin Durant.

Serge Ibaka added 15 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots...
This was supposed to be the perfect place for Daniel Orton.
Yet in his first season with the Thunder last year the former Bishop McGuinness standout couldn't get off the bench. He appeared in 13 games three fewer than he experienced the year before in Orlando. He played 104 total minutes.
“Interesting” Orton labeled year one in Thunder land his third in the NBA....
Tomorrow, the NBA preseason finally kicks off as the Oklahoma City Thunder are in Istanbul, Turkey to play a game against Fenerbahce Ulker.
Thunder forward Serge Ibaka decided to show off his hotel room view in an Instagram video and it is breath-taking to say the least:

Jeremy Lamb will likely begin the season as the sixth man of the Oklahoma City Thunder with Russell Westbrook out.
Reggie Jackson will slide into the starter role, which will mean Lamb will likely be the primary scorer of the second unit.
“(Lamb's play) is going to be a little bit more magnified now that Russ is out,” Kevin Durant said. “But he's ready. I know he'...
If you needed a reminder that the NBA’s preseason has begun, you don’t need to look any further.
