The big news came before Friday’s game against the Washington Wizards, where New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson revealed that he’d made a change to the starting lineup: Jason Kidd was relegated to the bench in favor of James White. James White? Yes! James White.
The Knicks, who fell to the reinvigorated Wizards a bit before the All-Star Break, struggled throughout Friday’s content but ultimately used a big fourth quarter to win their 35th game of the season with a 96-88 win. The Knickerbockers outscored the Wizards 23-11 in the final frame, with Carmelo Anthony (team-high 30 points) and Raymond Felton hitting clutch shots late to put the game on ice. Bradley Beal led Washington, who had won 7-of-10 coming in, with a career-high 29 points.
