In 1989, New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing became the first professional basketball player to launch his own sneaker company, complete with an array of different model sneakers and sports apparel.In 1990, the Knicks star enjoyed his best season as an NBA pro (averaging 28.8 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game), all the while donning his first signature sneaker, the "33 HI."Fast forward to 2012, and the world of social media (certainly paired with the nostalgia of many Knicks fans who can only hope another star player like Carmelo Anthony or Amar'e Stoudemire carries the team to similar success) has propelled the demand of a relaunch."Ewing Athletics" announced that it would be relaunching the entire company this season, with the 33 HI being the company's headlining attraction of re-releases.
