Kings @ Knicks: MSG 730pm
The Knicks look to improve to 4-0 on their current home stand facing the visiting Sacramento Kings, who will soon become the Seattle Supersonics. With a win, the Knicks would tie Miami for the first seed in the East. The Kings come in as losers in 6 of their last 7 games. Most importantly, the Knicks need to avenge their one point loss earlier this season, remember James Johnson heartbreaking dagger 3 pointer to sink the Knicks?
They need to stop the Kings quick guards and the uber talented Demarcus Cousins, who is unpredictable in every way. Watch out for Marcus Thornton tonight, he is my sleeper. The Kings defense is dreadful, 29th in the league, so look for the Knicks to have a bunch of open looks. Their offense is pretty putrid as well, ranked 20th in the league. Jimmer Fredette is their best three point shooter at 41%, but most of the Knicks opponents perimeter players have dominated NY early in games. Can the Knicks break that bad habit?
I expect the Knicks to continue putting STAT in the post and look to get open shots out of possible double teams, which would be extremely dangerous with Novak, JR Smith and Pablo Prigioni on the perimeter. Can’t wait until Rasheed Wallace is out there as well, wow! Anyway, this is a no excuse game; the Knicks must win this game by starting out determined and not allowing the Kings to get into a rhythm. The Kings defense is so bad, they should give the Knicks plenty of chances to get going. As always for the Knicks, it’s about effort and defense. GO KNICKS!
