Knicks vs Suns: MSG 9pm   After the tough loss to the Lakers on Christmas Day, the Knicks are back at it again. This time they are against the Phoenix Suns. The Suns are struggling this year, but have some decent players like Dragic and Gortat. The Knicks are the walking wounded at the moment and I am not sure who will lace them up tonight. In or out of the line up the Knicks need to get back on track and take the next two games. Keys to a Victory: ♦If Ray plays, he needs to set up his teammates and take it easy on his outside shot. Ray is at his best setting up his teammates when he is driving to the basket and pushing it. ♦Melo and JR must play within the offense and move the ball to the open man. These two guys have been carrying this team and must continue to take quality shots. ♦Camby and Thomas are very important tonight. Tyson needs to get some rest. He played 39 minutes yesterday and I was hoping Camby would alleviate that problem. Let’s hope Camby can play and give Tyson the break he deserves while Camby contributes. ♦Steve Novak was practically knocked out yesterday, so I am not sure what to expect from him; if he even plays at all. Novak has been quiet for for awhile now since his short hot streak. Steve needs to get open somehow, he can’t stand around and wait. Teams will not let him get open, especially if they are good defensive teams. Fighting around screens and picks is one way to do this. Overall These are things the Knicks need to do to get the job done. The last few weeks the Knicks defense has not been as stifling and suffocating as it once was. Even though the Knicks are 20-8, they need to get the edge back. 20-8 is still very good, but they could be a GREAT team and most likely should have a better record. Let’s Get It!   Peter A.
