Amar’e Stoudemire missed the first two months of the season with a knee injury and now it looks like he’ll miss the last two with a similar problem. Stoudemire is having surgery on his right knee to clear out debris and is expected to miss at least the next six weeks.
This is a pretty big blow to the New York Knicks who have been getting some good production from Stoudemire off the bench. Amar’e has adapted well to his new role, averaging 23 minutes and 14 points per game since returning at the beginning of January.
The timetable is six weeks, but if the recovery process does not go smoothly, and/or the Knicks do not fare well in the playoffs, he could be out for the season.
The Knicks are also dealing with an injury to another superstar. Carmelo Anthony has missed the last three games with his own knee problems. He should be back in the next couple of games, but there’s no word yet exactly how soon.
The Knicks are an interesting team though. They seem to ral...

Carmelo Anthony suffered a knee injury and has missed the past two games. He doesn’t seem very optimistic about his knee injury going forward.
Talking with Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, Anthony seemed to think his knee injury could trouble him for the rest of his career. When as asked Carmelo had this to say: “I don’t think I’ll ever be 100 percent.”
While Carmelo Anthony declared he will not need surgery to repair his stiff/sore right knee, the Knicks forward said he doesn’t think he’ll be 100% healthy for the rest of the season, and revealed that no one can determine what is causing the fluid buildup in the back of his knee.
According to Al Iannazzone, Newsday:
…An MRI revealed there is fluid buildup in the back of the...

So Carmelo Anthony goes down and the New York Knicks complete a huge comeback and beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, outlast the Detroit Pistons in a roller coaster battle and take the Oklahoma City Thunder to the buzzer. Then Amar’e Stoudemire’s knee explodes again and the Knicks – still sans Anthony – beat the Utah Jazz by nearly 30 points. At last check, the Utah Jazz do indeed...

Carmelo Anthony came back Monday night against the Warriors, after missing three games with a knee injury. He might as well have stayed in a suit, as they lost the game by 29 points, in a pathetic 92-63 shellacking by Stephen Curry and company. Anthony played 34 minutes and scored a modest 14 points, on 4-15 shooting and grabbed...

He has plenty of years left to chase championships with the...
