New York Knicks
After being informed the Rockets' poison pill (re: Jeremy Lin) became that much more deadly with the altered terms, the Knicks took to the phones. Working feverishly to seek out other potential alternatives, the team didn't have to look very far. With that, a former Knick and rumored offseason target will be returning to the Big Apple. The Knicks agreed to a sign & trade deal with the Blazers for Raymond Felton, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post. Though details regarding Felton's contract are yet to be officially released, it seems Felton will be returning, along with Kurt Thomas (another fan-favorite).In return, the Knicks will sign & trade Jared Jeffries and ship him to Portland along with center Dan Gadzuric. Sources tell Berman New York is now NOT expected to match Lin's offer sheet.Despite Lin being a favorite to return to the Knicks all summer, due to all the "Linsanity," there's still been a Lin vs. Felton debate amongst the me...

Fresh off his ESPY award win for "Best Breakthrough Athlete," Jeremy Lin was at the Houston Rockets' summer league headquarters earlier today to sign a highly anticipated offer sheet. As anticipated as the contract itself may have been by the Knicks, the terms are certain to take the team for a loop.Instead of the widely reported $28.8 million, four year offer Lin was...
Our NBA source has told us that the New York Knicks are on the verge of landing point guard Raymond Felton through a sign-and-trade with the Portland Trail Blazers. The result of that deal is that New York will not, in fact, match the offer sheet restricted free agent Jeremy Lin signed with the Houston Rockets.
(As I was writing this, several other outlets began reporting the Felton...
"Congrats on that trophy, now get the heck out of my town."
Here’s an abridged version of the NBA offseason to date: The lockout changed nothing, owners didn’t learn, nor did they want to learn, because they’re still giving out awful contracts, and they just wanted to make sure they’d get more back from the league so they’d stop losing money. I think that pretty...
Raymond Felton is returning to New York, calling into question whether the Knicks plan to re-sign fellow point guard Jeremy Lin. Felton's agent confirmed a Yahoo! Sports report Saturday that Felton would be signed and traded by Portland to New York. Lin has signed an offer sheet with the Houston Rockets, and the Knicks have repeatedly said they would match any offer for their...
Perhaps gone as quickly as it exploded onto the scene, the Linsanity era may be over in the Big Apple.
According to multiple reports Sunday, the New York Knicks have chosen not to match Houston's three-year, $25 million offer sheet for popular point guard Jeremy Lin, meaning the next time Lin takes the floor, it would be in a Rockets jersey.
When reached Sunday night by FOXSports...
The New York Knicks have contacted Raymond Felton's agent about a possible sign-and-trade arrangement to acquire the point guard, ESPNNewYork.com reported, and that raises the possibility that they will not match the offer sheet Jeremy Lin signed with the Houston Rocks. Tony Dutt, Felton's agent, told ESPN.com that the deal is close and that New York is where Felton would...
The New York Knicks drama keeps on performing at high energy levels and the latest involves Knicks shooting guard J.R. Smith. He explains why the Knicks shouldn’t sign Lin, and is it just me, but Smith comes across as a “hater”…. and before you read the quotes, I believe J.R. is missing the point to Lin’s [...]
The Knicks reportedly are not planning to match the contract offer Jeremy Lin has from the Rockets, and that may be wise for more than financial reasons. If the comments from J.R. Smith are any indication, Lin’s contract could be a troubling issue for Knicks players.
“Without a doubt,” Smith told SI’s Sam Amick when asked if Lin’s contract would be a challenge for teammates...

Some interesting stories are surfacing about Lin regarding him being a little soft and the fame going to his head. I’m not sure I’m buying those rumors, but I do think the Knicks will be fine without him.

It’s looking more and more likely that the Knicks won’t be matching the contract the Houston Rockets gave to Jeremy Lin. In light of comments made by Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith, for chemistry’s sake, it seems like that is probably not a bad thing. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Smith was extremely candid about [...]
My passion for the NBA runs deep. I am a devout NBA junkie. I live and breathe NBA hoops during the season almost to a fault. During the months of October to June, I immerse myself in all things NBA. I am the acting commissioner of a NBA fantasy hoops league that is heading into its 8th season (The CAI). A league, I might add, that I have yet to win a championship in. If you have...
The Knicks have acquired Raymond Felton and Kurt Thomas from the Blazers in exchange for Jared Jeffries and Dan Gadzuric.
In my previous post, “Is Jason Kidd the Difference Maker to Take the New York Knicks Back to the Finals?” I noted how I felt that the Knicks acquiring Jason Kidd was a good signing because he would help Jeremy Lin to become a better ball player. This was before Jason Kidd goes out and gets arrested for DWI and slams his SUV into a pole. This was before the Knicks...
