The Indiana Pacers are advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals after defeating the New York Knicks 106-99. Let's talk about some of the reasons why Indiana is going to the Conference Finals, why New York is going home, and the outlook for both franchises moving forward. Lance Stephenson's Shining Moment After an average Game five performance, Pacers guard Lance Stephenson had his best game this season. Stephenson finished with 25 points on 9-13 shooting, 10 rebounds, and three steals. The numbers were great for Lance, but what killed the Knicks was his ability to get to the basket. With Stephenson's large frame, Lance killed New York's two point guard lineup by attacking Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni, and when J.R. Smith found time on the court, Stephenson used any and every screen to get easy shot attempts at the basket. Throw in his momentum swaying three-point play in the fourth and the Knicks had no answer. Slow Motion Video:The Indiana Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference finals

The Indiana Pacers needed a career-high game from Lance Stephenson to take down the New York Knicks in Game 6. Stephenson chipped in 25 points on Saturday as the Pacers walked away with a hard fought 106-99 win to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. Stephenson also secured 10 rebounds while Paul George contributed 23 points to the Pacers’ collection plate. Roy Hibbert...

Lance Stephenson is the wild card for the Pacers vs the Heat

The Indiana Pacers have the odds stacked against them facing the Miami Heat, but the team matches up well against Miami, and things could get very interesting if Lance Stephenson continues his impressive development as a player. Adrian Wojnarowski has a nice profile of Stephenson, explaining how Larry Bird discovered him with a huge assist from another blast from the past, former...

Built to win now, Knicks didn't get close

A team built to win a title now didn't get close. Sure, the New York Knicks ended lengthy droughts for division titles and playoff series victories, so there were successes. But they surrounded Carmelo Anthony with players on their last NBA legs with a championship in mind, knowing the window to win one would slam shut quickly. As Hall of Famer Earl Monroe said in April on...

New York Knicks Game 6 Preview – Just Get One 2.0

We are running back our Game 5 preview but in a FANCY 2.0 version for Game 6. Once again, the New York Knicks just need to get one…one road “upset” that we are starting to feel alarmingly optimistic about occurring. If that occurs, all of the pressure shifts squarely back to the young Indiana Pacers for Game 7 at Madison Square Garden. Why should Knicks fans feel hopeful...

Talking Knicks Basketball!

S/O to Max Cayard Manager of Knicks Player Security. Talked Knicks with him at Ruth Chris tonight. Good guy! — Peter from Knickswag (@Knickswag) May 21, 2013 Just happened to meet Max at Ruth Chris tonight after I mentioned what it feels like to be a broken hearted Knicks fan. He laughed then introduced himself. Mos def a good guy. We talked Knicks basketball for 10 minutes, but...

Frank Vogel Didn’t Refer To Miami As “Just Another Team”

LeBron James created the non-storiest of non-stories Sunday, when he responded to Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel referring to the Miami Heat as “just another team”. Unfortunately for LeBron, that’s not what Vogel said at all. He referred to the Heat as “just the next team” — a less dismissive comment, and one that also happens to be 100% accurate as the Heat are...

Jalen Rose says it’s ok for JR Smith & other NBA players to hit the club before games

Jalen Rose has provided lots of insight into the lifestyle of a professional athlete since he has crossed over to the other side and climbed into the broadcast booth. In a recent podcast, Jalen discussed JR Smith – and most NBA players – petulance to party and if it actually harms their game.     The average person probably doesn’t have an up close and personal view of a...

Roy Hibbert Denies Carmelo Anthony At The Rim

Roy Hibbert blocked his fifth shot of the night – a nasty denial on a Carmelo Anthony dunk attempt at the rim during the fourth quarter of Game 6 Saturday night:

Knicks fall to the Pacers in Game 6 to to get eliminated, bringing up some important questions ...

Carmelo Anthony scored 39 points in yesterday's game, but came up short in the 4th quarter The always-tumultuous New York Knicks' season came to end Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis at the hands of the Pacers, a team that clearly wanted the series victory much, much more than their metropolitan counterparts. Even a kid from the big city...

Pacers, Heat start bracing to square off again

A year ago when Miami and Indiana faced off in the postseason, there were blood-drawing hits, flagrant fouls, technical fouls, choke signs being directed toward LeBron James and more than a few sharp-tongued comments. Here they possibly go again, at least on the comment front. The Eastern Conference finals between the Heat and Pacers won't begin until Wednesday night, but there...
