From Larry Brown Sports:
You know how they say you learn something new every day? Well today, I learned something new about Kobe Bryant. We already knew Kobe is one of the more cocky players in the NBA, which is one of the characteristics that makes him one of the greatest of all time. However, he may be even more comfortable with who he is than some of us thought.
In an article he wrote for iVillage on Thursday that was aimed at encouraging people to vote, Kobe talked about how having children with Vanessa Bryant resulted in the couple being more concerned about what goes on in the world. Prior to that, they cared more about other things such as -- well, that's where it gets interesting.
Neither of us grew up in politically charged households so the issues weren't things we were necessarily excited to read about and discuss to say the least. It was ESPN for me and "Carrie Fever" (Sex and the City) for her. (Yes, I watched the show and loved it... It was quite "informative.")
Five-time NBA champion, future Hall of Famer, scorer of 81 points in a single game and "Sex and the City" fan? Apparently so. I ain't mad at him. I may not watch the show, but I've seen the movie. So what?
BEST OF MAXIM
Because the Los Angeles Lakers going 0-7 this preseason is not painful enough, here is a real reason for mild concern heading into the season opener against the Dallas Mavericks: Kobe Bryant is on the shelf. Laker fans may not be putting a lot of stake into a winless preseason schedule that has seen their superstar starters only play one game together and the bench be an abysmal...
Kobe Bryant, arguably the best player in the NBA, will not play again in the preseason. But that's not the worst part of the news about the Los Angeles Lakers guard's foot strain. The perennial All-Star could miss the Lakers' season opener against the Dallas Mavericks.According to Ramona Shelburne and Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Bryant spent most of yesterday...
The Los Angeles Lakers announced Wednesday that they are shutting down Kobe Bryant for the remainder of the preseason. Bryant has been battling a sore right foot during the preseason. Wednesday's move is to allow the perennial All-Star guard to rest the foot as much as possible in preparation for when the regular season begins on Oct. 30 when the Lakers host the Dallas Mavericks...
Kobe Bryant has been shut down this preseason because of a nagging foot injury, and according to Lakers coach Mike Brown, it's no guarantee the veteran superstar will be back for Tuesday's season opener against the Mavericks.
"I don't know if he'll be ready," Brown said after the Lakers' 97-91 loss to the Clippers on Wednesday, according...
I think I'm going to shut down the quote of the year competition on That NBA Lottery Pick since this little nugget from Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant isn't going to be topped.Recently, Kobe penned a column on the female-focused website IVillage.com and revealed his love for the HBO show, "Sex and the City":The change occurred when Vanessa and I had our babies...

It’s interesting watching NBA superstars grow up. A lot of times when they reach the NBA, players might have “grown man’s game” but are still finding themselves as people. Kobe Bryant has a blog on iVillage where he’s discusses topics related to family. In his latest blog, Kobe discusses why it’s important for you [...]
The foot injury that prompted the Los Angeles Lakers to shut down Kobe Bryant for the remainder of the preseason might result in him missing Tuesday's season opener. ON THE MEND
Lakers head coach Mike Brown is unsure about whether Kobe Bryant, who is nursing an injured foot, will suit up for the team's opener next Tuesday.
THINGS TURNED OUT WELL
Dwight Howard admitted in a recent interview that when the Magic began looking to trade him, he originally hoped that he would end up in Brooklyn with the Nets.
The Los Angeles Lakers closed out a winless preseason with a 94-82 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.

The Lakers lost last night to the Sacramento Kings for the third time this preseason, making the Lakers’ final record 0-8. Contrary to belief outside of Los Angeles, the sky is not falling. Is your wall at home looking a little bare? Well perhaps it’s time to decorate with a little bit of art inspired by your favorite team. Rare Ink has teamed up with the NBA to create a limited edition art collection.
Some of the pieces look amazing. There are a few extra focused on the game’s big stars like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, but every team at least has their logo...
SAN DIEGO, CA--
Well, it's over. Mercifully. The exhibition season has come to an end and the Lakers wind up with a miserable 0-8 record, following a 94-82 loss to the Sacramento Kings at Valley View Casino Center. They're the only team to go the entire preseason without a single victory
It never was about the won-loss record, though. It was about a revamped team learning...
