The LA Times has learned what Kobe Bryant calls his injured teammate Steve Nash.  As we all know, Steve Nash has cleaned up his look with a businessman-like haircut instead of the long flowing hair he would often lick while playing.  Kobe said, I’m not working too hard, to be honest with you.  The shots that I made were all jumpers.  It doesn’t take much energy to knock those jumpers down.  Bringing the ball up and having me kind of initiate the offense and score and stuff like that, it’s making me work a little more than I will when Gatsby gets back.  When Gatsby gets back, I don’t have to do that.  The game’s going to become even more easy for me. Gatsby is a characters reference in a novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald from the 1920′s.  If one was to Google “Jay Gatsby”, who is the main character in the book, then one could see why Kobe Bryant is referring to Steve Nash as such. Kobe Bryant believes that once Steve Nash returns to the lineup, his game and overall scoring will come much easier.  Of course, Kobe likes getting passes so he can shoot instead of being the passer for others to shoot.  This Black Mamba and Gatsby backcourt partnership seems like a fun thing.  Insert Superman/Iron Man in Dwight Howard into the mix and that trio is going to be a sight to see when the NBA Playoffs start.

He will probably undergo an MRI exam to get a fresh update on the small fracture in his lower left leg. Nash said he would...

Dwight Howard clowns Kobe Bryant on team plane (VIDEO)

New team, same old Dwight Howard. After starting the 2012 NBA season at 1-4, the Los Angeles Lakers have bounced back nicely as they currently stand with a record of 7-7 in the Western Conference. During a recent team flight, Howard somehow gained control of the in-board intercom and decided to have some at the expense of some of his teammates. The major target of his rant was Kobe...

Kobe Bryant is no Jack Taylor

Last night, Kobe Bryant scored over half his team’s points (40) and reached a triple double.  No, not the good kind of triple double…the kind where you also have 10 turnovers.  An absurd line of 40/10/3/3 with 5 3PM, 12-28 FG, 11-13 FT, and the aforementioned 10 turnovers.  You’ll live with the high TO’s but the Lakers can’t.  In a night of high profile college basketball...

With the score tied at 77, Hill took the last shot for the Pacers as he drove past Lakers forward Metta World Peace and put up a lay-up past the arms of Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard attempting to block it: The Pacers...

Guarded Feelings

Now that the rust is coming off the season (except for you Steve Nash), we’ll be splitting the Wednesday posts into morning (for recaps) and afternoon (for the tiers).  Check out the previous Centers, Forwards, and Guards tiers.  This week we’ll jump right into the guards. There’s been some movement on the PG front mainly because I had to move Kyrie Irving down due to his...

Rondo for MVP

Is it too early to start the campaign for Rajon Rondo as MVP of the 2012-2013 NBA season? Never too early to try…. It’s been almost ten years since Steve Nash or anyone won the MVP with stats similar to Rondo. I’m going to break down Rondo’s season so far stat wise vs. Steve Nash’s 2004-2005 season to make my point because you can always find stats to make your argument...
