The Lakers are halfway through a disastrous 2012-2013 NBA season and would need to go on an incredible run to make any noise in the Western Conference.
At this point everyone is aware of Dwight Howard’s unhappiness playing in Los Angeles.  GM Mitch Kupchak has made it known that the team won’t trade Howard, but you never know.
One thing is for sure, star guard Kobe Bryant really doesn’t care at this point.  According to the New York Post, Bryant was asked by Yahoo Sports about the possibility of the Lakers trading Howard.
Bryant was reportedly totally indifferent to the situation, and in Bryant’s eyes, “it really doesn’t matter if they trade him or not.”
“I don’t know what they are going to do,” Bryant told Yahoo! Sports following the West’s 143-138 win. ”But at this point, it doesn’t matter. What matters to us is what we do on Wednesday [against the Celtics] and go from there.
“That’s the most important thing. That’s my message to the team is that you can’t worry about the future, you can’t worry about the past, you just have to focus on the present and we really have to maximize every single game.”
At this point, the question now is will people turn this into Kobe doesn’t care about Dwight Howard, or is that Kobe saying his team just needs to focus on the matters at hand, regardless of who’s on the roster.
