It has been reported that Kris Joseph has been sent back down to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA D-League. Kris had been recalled on Friday  when Jeff Green's status was questionable due to a knee injury, and emergency depth was needed. He played 5 minutes in the win over Portland on Friday, but was a DNP-Coach's Decision against the Bucks. With the Celtics now having 3 days off before their next game, Joseph goes back to Maine in order to keep developing and get more reps. The Maine Red Claws have a game this afternoon in Portland. Red Claws Drop Home Opener to D-Fenders 97-94

The LA D-Fenders spoiled the Red Claws home opener with a 97-94 win. At first glance it looks like a Celtics game, as the Red Claws are wearing special green and white Celtics uniforms. The Claws clearly missed Kris Joseph, who was called up to play with the Celtics tonight. Fab Melo stayed with the Red Claws and is showing progress with every game. He finished the night with...

Recap: Bucks spot Celtics 17 and still win

Well… that sucked. Following Friday night’s ass-kicking of Portland, I just knew – in my heart of hearts – the Celtics were ripe for a letdown loss in Milwaukee. And they didn’t disappoint. Bucks win, 91-88. The Green: The Celtics raced out to a 17-0 lead and led 27-11 at the end of the first quarter. They nearly doubled Milwaukee’s shooting percentage and forced 7 turnovers...

Taking Stock: Celtics – Trailblazers

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value. Starters Offense:      Defense:      Overall:  I bet when you see 3 green arrows come up for Courtney Lee, you expect a siren to go off and coins to come pouring out of your monitor somehow.  I’m going to look past a few of the misses because as we’ve...

Recap: No Rondo? No problem..

photo via Yahoo NBA The Celtics pasted the Portland Trailblazers at TD Garden tonight, 96-78. Courtney Lee and Jeff Green both stepped-up, and Kevin Garnett was vintage KG. He scored his 10 points on a variety of bank shots, fadeaways and sweet jumpers. Ticket also finished with 5 boards & 4 assists in 23 minutes. Jeff Green was aggressive from the jump and led the C’s with...

Putting Out The Blaze

Basketball is one of the most eloquent, graceful and beautiful sports to watch. The way some players glide up and down the court or shoot a perfectly balanced jumpshot makes many fans appreciate the sport. Tonight the Celtics completely butchered that for the Blazers, something we've been waiting for and are happily welcoming. Some might light up when they see the Jeff Green...

Video: Three at the Buzzer: Rondo-less Celtics Blowout Blazers 96-78

The Celtics barely missed Rondo as they routed the Trailblazers 96-78. Strong performances by Jeff Green, Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett gave Celtics fans hope that they can play without their floor general. Jared Weiss of CLNS Radio recaps the game in tonight’s edition of “Three at the Buzzer”. Filmed and [...]

Celts cruise despite Rondo's absence

Jeff Green scored 19 points, Jason Terry added 17 and the Boston Celtics cruised to a comfortable win without Rajon Rondo, topping the Portland Trail Blazers 96-78 on Friday night. The star point guard served the first game of his two-game suspension for his role in a scuffle Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets. Courtney Lee started in Rondo's place and finished with 10...

Bucks Gone Wild

Consistency is something the Celtics have finally found, that is if being consistently inconsistent counts.  Watching the Celtic's quarters are almost like following two different movies at the exact same time which can be extremely frustrating, especially when they start out playing so well. The defense was smothering the Bucks and it seemed like we had gained control of the...

No Rondo? No problem: Celtics cruise past Blazers 96-78

First game of a back-to-back without Rajon Rondo? No problem. The Trailer Blazers came into tonight without a victory in the Garden since 2004 and the Celtics made sure it stayed that way, crushing the Blazers 56-33 in the first half and holding on for the easy victory. There was a moment in the second half where it looked like the Blazers might put together a run, but consecutive...

Celts Beat Blazers, 96-78

Boston and Portland are scenic ports of call, but their basketball arenas are no bed and breakfasts for the NBA's gentlemen callers. Courtney Lee replaced Rajon Rondo in the starting lineup and the Celtics got off to a quick start.  Jeff Green played well with 19 points and Jason Terry had 17. Dee Brown converted two free throws with 16.5 seconds remaining and the Celtics...

Slip sliding away: Boston falls 91-88

I’ll admit it. I really thought the Celtics were going to run away with this game.It was foolish, I know. I mean, why would I think that this team could hold a 17-0 lead? Stupid, stupid. I should have known that Milwaukee would come back, because, you know, the Celtics. The only question would be whether or not Boston could hold off Milwaukee’s comeback. They could not, as it...
