A few quick thoughts on the Cavaliers thrilling 100-99 win at Denver on Wednesday:
1. Ill be honest, the Cavs have no business beating a good team like the Nuggets, on the road, without injured big man Anderson Varejao. At least, thats what I kept telling myself after this one. But as Cavs fans are slowly learning, with Kyrie Irving, all things are possible.
2. Its true that Irving made the game-winner with 4 seconds left. Its true that he is already one of the best finishers in the game -- with a Steve Nash-like ability of hitting layups over and around taller defenders. And its true Irving is having so much fun playing the game that he rarely seems to feel any pressure. But what goes unnoticed is how he made life difficult for speedy Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson at the other end. That was especially the case late in the game.
3. Irving is a remarkable fourth-quarter player. Yes, Im stating the obvious. But honestly, hes less than 50 games into his pro career, and if youre Cavs ...
