Just when you thought that you had heard and seen it all, Los Angeles Lakers big men Robert Sacre and Chris Kaman has decided to purchase a bovine cow with Lakers strength and conditioning coach Tim DiFrancesco. Thanks to ESPN LA’s Dave McMenamin, we have more details on why they bought the cow and who will own each part: This isn’t like Billy Crystal’s pet cow Norman in “City Slickers.” The three of them are going in together on a full cow’s worth of beef after it’s been to the butcher, or approximately 400 pounds of cuts of meat for their freezers. Kaman is getting half, 200 pounds, while Sacre and DiFrancesco are getting a quarter, 100 pounds, each. It was originally supposed to be a four-way split, but longtime Lakers trainer Gary Vitti backed out. “Gary Vitti ran out of freezer space, so I think he’s out,” Kaman said. “So, I got to pick up the slack. I’m happy to, though.” Freezer space was an issue for Sacre, too, so he did something about it. “I had to go to a Best Buy to go buy me a 15 cubic foot freezer,” said Sacre, who estimated that the freezer and the beef will end up costing him about $1,300 combined. “It’s, uh, it’s intense.” Kids, that’s a lot of cow! *** Chris Kaman and Robert Sacre bought a cow [ESPN LA]

Lakers Injury Update: Wesley Johnson, Xavier Henry and Jordan Farmar

Last season, Laker fans had enough of the daily injury updates. Hopefully, the following injuries are only minor and won’t hamper any of the players involved. Firstly, Wesley Johnson‘s injury has the potential to be the worst of the three updates, but here’s hoping it turns out to be nothing. Johnson experienced some discomfort in his left foot during last night’s game against...

VIDEO: Watch Nick Young score 17 points in his Lakers debut

Nick Young did exactly what you thought he would in his Lakers debut: shoot the ball. Swaggy P scored 17 points in 19 minutes, with 8 of those points coming from the charity stripe. While Kobe Bryant is out, Young will have many opportunities to score the ball – this was just a taste of what the L.A. native can do. .bottom-of-post-responsive { width: 300px; height: 250px...

The Lakers Got Beef Which Each Other

This looks like a guy who would buy a cow. Newly added Los Angeles Lakers big men Chris Kaman and Robert Sacre have beef which other.  No, not like that, they bought a cow, or at least the 400 pounds of beef that comes with it post-slaughter. According to ESPN Los Angeles, condition coach Tim DiFrancesco inspired the idea and is splitting it with them three ways: DiFrancesco, who...

VIDEO: Steve Nash finds Steve Blake with the no-look, left-handed, behind-the-back assist

In last night’s game against the Denver Nuggets, Steve Nash found Steve Blake with a no-look, left-handed, behind-the-back assist. And he did it all within a couple of seconds It’d be hard enough for anyone else to make that pass with their strong hand while looking at their target, but of course, Nash has been doing this kind of thing for years. Hopefully, Nash can stay healthy...

Lakers’ Big Men Buy Cow After Pitching in With ‘Grass-Fed’ Beef Enthusiast Coach

The logic of grass-fed beef sort of falls apart when taken beyond the reasonable-sounding premise that natural meat is good. Sure, everybody would rather have meat without steroids and all that man-made stuff, but the advent of all those icky things helped wipe out a lot of hunger in the world. On balance, eating antibiotic-injected beef is probably better than not eating at all...

Kobe Admits To Having Some Self Doubt About Comeback (Video)

The older Kobe Bryant gets, the more human and vulnerable he allows himself to be. Bryant is attempting to comeback from an injury that has taken many a career.  The Achilles tendon is wired different than say an ankle or ACL. Bryant blistered through the early stages of his rehab, and as the months have gotten longer, things have seemed to slow down a bit in his prognosis. In a...
