Ramon Galloway (Photo Credit: Frank Victores/USATodaySports) When the NBA announced its draft picks on Thursday June 28th, La Salle graduate Ramon Galloway’s name was not called, but he did make the Nuggets summer league team. The Florida native was ranked 42nd in NCAA Seniors by Draftexpress.com A sprained ankle that happened during a workout with the Washington Wizards is the possible cause Galloway did not make it in. “No I wasn’t disappointed. (In not being drafted) A lot of it came down to my ankle.  A lot of people didn’t get to see me play,” said Galloway. Galloway flew out to Vegas this week to begin training for the summer league and so far, “Everything’s going well,” he said. Although his ankle might have hurt his chances in the draft the La Salle grad’s ankle is healing up.  “It’s coming along well, I’m just trying to rehab it and strengthen it.” Continuing to play the game was always the goal for Galloway. When asked what’s next after the Sweet 16 run Galloway responded that he’d hopefully get some NBA looks, meet the right people and be able to continue playing. At La Salle Galloway was a key player in the team’s success.  In his two years he had 1,023 career points.  His performance helped his team make it to the Sweet 16, which was the first time La Salle had gotten that far in the Big Dance since 1955.   The point guard was a three-time All-Big 5 choice, and a two-time A-10 selection.  In press conferences coach Dr. John Giannini always praised Galloway for his high energy and intensity. Galloway started his college career at South Carolina then made the transfer to La Salle to be closer to his family.  At the La Salle basketball banquet this past April Galloway made sure to tell everyone about his grandpa and how great his mom was for putting up with him as a young kid. He had his father stand up, applauding him for being able to do that after an accident left him blind when Ramon was very young. Being all the way in Vegas is a bit of a change from being so close to everyone in Philadelphia, but according to Galloway his aunt and uncle are going to fly out and see a couple of his games.  This will be a bit of a change for Galloway as his father, would sit on the sidelines and listen to every game.  “Hopefully they’ll be watching the games on T.V though,” said Galloway.
