The Lakers invitation for the playoffs came in the mail after all. After a trying season, of starting 0-5 firing head coach Mike Brown, talked to Phil Jackson about coming back to coach the Lakers, only to hire Mike Dantoni and look bad doing it, the Lakers avoided the embarassment of not making the playoffs by beating the Houston Rockets in over time 99-95 and with the Utah Jazz 86-70 loss to the Memphis Grizzles not only do the Lakers make the playoffs, but start the playoffs as the seventh seed. They face the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. The Lakers begin the playoffs without Kobe Bryant and possibly Steve Nash, but Kobe was happy the Lakers made it to the playoffs and expressed his happiness on Twitter: And to think some said we wouldn’t make it.. #keepcalm #believe #makeplayoffs now #makehistory 10:25 PM – 17 Apr 2013 Whatever awaits the Lakers in the playoffs after the season that they just had…well figure they’re happy to have an extended season now maybe they will relax and Gasol, Howard and company will raise their games during this playoff series
