The Lakers and Clippers meet up at the Staples Center on Saturday night and provided us with one of the best basketball games of the season. It wasn’t Blake Griffin or Kobe Bryant who provided us with the games brightest highlight, but Lakers rookies point guard Darius Morris.
With 1.3 seconds left on the clock, Morris took the inbounds pass from Josh McRoberts, eluded Chris Paul and drained a 50-footer to end the first quarter, cutting the Clippers lead to seven.
Although the 21 year-old Morris had had the difficult task of guarding Chris Paul, who went for 33 points, feeding Kobe’s fourth consecutive 40 point night, the rookie guard played solid in his first big test of the season. However, it was the Clippers who came out victorious in this crosstown rivals, 102-94.
