He will see foot specialist Kenneth Jung on Sunday. The cause and extent of the soreness were unclear.Monday was supposed to be Pau's return date, but this setback would make a return then unlikely. Mike D'Antoni said that his return would be in jeopardy.Mike D'Antoni on Pau Gasol: "We were talking about Monday [vs. PHX]. That could be in jeopardy, but he's close."— Mark Medina (@MarkG_Medina) March 17, 2013Kobe Bryant, who recently suffered an ankle sprain, has high hopes for the impact Gasol will bring with his return."I think it's huge for us," Bryant said Friday. "We've been kind of able to keep the ship floating a little bit while he's been out. But having him back in that lineup changes things for defenses and what they have to prepare for. In the block, he's just a handful."After Monday's game, the Lakers will not play again until Friday. If Gasol does not play on Monday, he will have plenty of time to rest for the following game. The Lakers will want a healthy Gasol playing in the light of Kobe's injury. Lakers Lack Energy In Loss to Suns

Photo courtesy of Christian Petersen, Getty Images. The Lakers have yet to win the second game of a back-to-back this season. Earlier in the year, the reasons for this failure were quite simple in that, the Lakers didn’t need back-to-back games to lose. They could have 2-3 days off in between and still couldn’t figure out how to win. The solutions back then were to get injured...

Antawn Jamison scored 27 points, Metta World Peace added 22, and the Lakers...

Marc Gasol uses shoe to play defense on Derrick Favors (Video)

Marc Gasol became resourceful Saturday and used his shoe to try stopping Derrick Favors on defense. Luckily for Gasol, his Grizzlies teammate Ed Davis picked up the shoe and gave it to him. Gasol didn’t have a chance to put the shoe...

Preview: Lakers vs. Suns

For several weeks now, Steve Nash has been reiterating to the media that the Lakers (36-32) just need time together on the floor to develop that team chemistry they need to turn the season around. So far, he's right. Since the All-Star break, the Lakers have won 11 of their last 14 games. And if you're counting since their team meeting in Memphis back in January, they...

Pacers horrible in loss to Lakers

Losing to the Lakers without Kobe (well, 12 minutes of ineffective Kobe) and Pau Gasol -- at home, mind you -- has to equal the Pacers' worst loss of the season. Even worse than the Miami game a few nights ago. When I heard Kobe was going to play, I actually thought it would be a good thing for the Pacers. Surely he would not be 100% and might try to do too much, which would...
