Sunday saw the Los Angeles Lakers do something they have not done in a long time--they made it back to .500 with a big win over the Atlanta Hawks, 99-98. Kobe Bryant led the way (shocker) with 34 points; 11 of which came in a tough fourth quarter including the last six for the team. More heroics were necessary from the Black Mamba after the Lakers blew a 16-point lead in the second half. Luckily heroics on the hard court is something Kobe excels at! The win marks the end to the kind of streak the Lakers are not accustomed to-days with a record below .500 (61). The last time they spent that much time below .500 was the 2002-03 season (91). That season they bounced back to finish 50-32, but eventually lost to the San Antonio Spurs in the conference semi-finals ending their reign as NBA Champions at three seasons (1999-02). This season has been a tough year for the Lakers and their fans. It started off with tons of promise with all the big name free agents they brought ...

Kobe cameos in Chinese Nike commercial

Yi Jianlian never made a name for himself here in the United States, but he is still huge in China. You know who is also huge in China? Kobe Bryant. Kobe is still the top player marketed overseas for the NBA. They love him. So it was only natural for him an Yi to star in a commercial together. It’s a pretty sweet ad, entitled “Give Me the Ball”: Nike routinely puts out some...

Kobe Bryant Dunks Over Josh Smith

Kobe Bryant with the most powerful 2 of his 34 points as he soars for the jam over Josh Smith late in the fourth quarter leading his Lakers to a W:

Get dunked on by “Retro” Kobe Bryant (VIDEO)

When Kobe Bryant flew to Germany over a year to received treatment for his “bummy knee”, the one thing on his mind was prove to his haters that he is NOT [...] Offers Kobe Bryant $5 Million to Be in Dunk Contest

This really doesn’t make any sense, because Kobe has already won a Dunk Contest, but everyone is trying to get some publicity off the fact that Lebron refuses to enter the Dunk Contest. I will give credit, they could have taken the easy route and just offered the money to LeBron, but by offering it to Kobe, people will at least be curious what strings are attached to it...

Kobe Bryant Threw Down on Josh Smith Last Night (Video)

Kobe Bryant dropped a cool 34 points on the Atlanta Hawks last night, and led his team to a 99-98 victory. Bryant had 11 points in the fourth quarter, including this monster dunk over Atlanta’s Josh Smith with a little more than 2 minutes to play in the game.  It's safe to say Kobe wants to get his team into the playoffs. Kobe Bryant Throws Down One-Handed Dunk Over Josh Smith in Lakers Win (Video)

Not to be outdone by LeBron James‘ recent dunks, Kobe Bryant flashed some impressive ups on Sunday night. The Lakers’ star threw down a powerful one-handed slam over the outreached arm of Josh Smith. Bryant didn’t quite posterize the Hawks’ forward, but that’s only because Smith was too scared to get in his way. Bryant’s efforts didn’t quite match James’ two alley...

Russell Westbrook Makes Kobe Bryant Look Silly

Kobe may still be one of the best to be currently playing the game of basketball, but even the greatest have their low moments. Check out the young and quite fast Russell Westbrook of the Thunder spin Kobe around and leave him wondering where Russ went off to. [Bleacher Report] Article found on: Cosby Sweaters

Here’s Kobe Bryant dunking all over Josh Smith

Kobe Bryant isn’t as spry as he once was, but every now and then he catches someone slipping. No usually, the person that is caught slipping isn’t as tall and athletic as Atlanta’s Josh Smith. But yesterday during the Lakers 99-98 win over the Hawks, Kobe turned back the clock and dunked on Smith like it was 2002 again. The post Here’s Kobe Bryant dunking all over Josh Smith...

Video: Nike Greater China's ‘Give Me The Ball' Campaign

That’s the premise of “Give Me the Ball,” a new basketball campaign driven by Nike Greater China. “Give Me the Ball” motivates players to dream big, speak up, take charge and make their own mark with just a basketball in their hands. Iconic global players Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant...

Los Angeles Lakers: LA Now At .500. Next Stop Playoffs?

The Los Angeles Lakers may not be a team of destiny, or champions, or even a playoff team, but do not tell that to them, as they are on a torrid run. Apparently oblivious to the outside world, the Lakers have finally started playing the way they should have all year. They are now at .500, 30-30 and only 2.5 games back of the Houston Rockets for the final playoff spot. Here is...

Playing through pain can make things worse

Tape holds up the two snapshots, much like those that dot the locker of a high school sophomore. Except this locker has no front, and it's full of basketball gear that hasn't been touched in months. This is Brandon Roy's cubby, at the far end of the Timberwolves' locker room, and those are picture of his two children, Brandon Jr., 5, and Mariah, 4. They're the...

Caption The Photo: TNT’s Craig Sager & a Kid in a “LeBron is a B*tch” Shirt

Crazy adult fans, were once groomed to be crazy kid fans. I remember a story about how ESPN’s Bill Simmons kid was a fan of Kobe Bryant, so  he brainwashed the child by telling them kid Kobe was a bad parent. So, I can’t say I am shocked, someone let this kid out of the house with a “LeBron is a ******** shirt. I am little surprised that Sager, took the photo with him, but...
