MINNEAPOLIS Kevin Love has re-fractured the third metacarpal on his right (shooting) hand, the Timberwolves announced Saturday. Andy Weiland, the hand specialist who treated Love's previous break, will examine the power forward in New York later this week, and more information about the treatment will be known then. Love injured his hand in the third quarter of Thursday's game in Denver, and it was initially diagnosed as a sprained finger. However, the break was revealed Saturday after Love underwent an MRI exam. On Oct. 17, Love fractured the third and fourth metacarpals in his right hand when doing knuckle push-ups with his trainer at his home. He missed the first nine games of the season before returning Nov. 21. Since returning, Love has dealt with two bouts with illness, a bruised thumb and a poked eye. He's been struggling with his shot, averaging 18.3 points on 35.2 percent shooting and 14.0 rebounds in 18 games since returning. FollowJoan Niesen onTwitter.
