ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Brian Roberts scored 21 points and Eric Gordon added 12 to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a 101-82 rout of the Orlando Magic on Friday night. New Orleans coach Monty Williams played what will likely be his regular-season starters to open both halves, while the Magic coach Jacque Vaughn gave extended minutes to training camp signees trying to make the roster. New Orleans led by as many as 14 in the first half, but the game was tied at halftime. But the Pelicans recovered, riding a 52 percent shooting night (35 for 67) to separate themselves down the stretch. Manny Harris led the Magic with 12 points. Orlando opens the regular-season Tuesday at Indiana. New Orleans hosts the Pacers on Wednesday.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- In the final act of his first NBA preseason, Victor Oladipo drove nearly the length the floor for a layup which enabled the Orlando Magic to tie the score in at a point in a game where they had trailed by as many 14 points.
All right, so it took place just before halftime rather than in the waning moments of the fourth quarter.
The fact that the Magic lost 101...

About an hour after the Magic's preseason ended with a 101-82 loss to the Pelicans, the Magic announced they had waived second round pick Romero Osby and training camp invitees Mickell Gladness, Manny Harris and Kris Joseph. The Magic decided to sign training camp invitee Solomon Jones.
That move was a bit of a surprise. Osby, after all, was a player...

Friday marks the final preseason game and the clock will officially be nearing midnight for the Magic's training camp invitees without guaranteed contracts.
Romero Osby, Kyle O'Quinn, Solomon Jones, Mickell Gladness, Manny Harris and Kris Joseph have been competing for three spots in reality. Kyle O'Quinn seems to have one of those spots on...
The Magic are celebrating their 25th Anniversary this season. Amway Center is decked out inside and out with the 25th Anniversary logo and nostalgia is firmly in the air. There are going to be great retrospectives of the team and its history and recognition of its great players.
There will be plenty of other former Magic players that I am sure we will recognize throughout the...
Ronnie Price was leaving the locker room and told rookie Victor Oladipo just to wait for the regular season. There the intensity and the play will ratchet up a bit. The minutes will increase and the games will actually count for something.
Oladipo smiled and started belting out "I'm So Excited" by The Pointer Sisters.
That might be the feeling for many in locker...

AT&T CENTER – On Tuesday evening, the Orlando Magic caught a glimpse of just how special an aggressive Kawhi Leonard can be for the San Antonio Spurs as he is about to begin his third season in the NBA next week.
After Leonard scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds on the Magic in a 22-point preseason win for the Spurs, I caught up with Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn...
New Orleans Pelicans’ guard Tyreke Evans, who hasn’t played since spraining his left ankle on October 5, returned to the court on Friday night against the Orlando Magic.
As reported by Nakia Hogan of nola.com, Evans has been able to participate on a limited basis and although there is still soreness in the joint, Evans said on Friday morning he was finally healthy enough...
This is a no brainer.
Of course, Darrell Armstrong is going to be honored at some point this season by the Orlando Magic for its 25th Anniversary season. He was the heart of some of the most memorable Magic teams and a constant presence on the floor.
Armstrong is easily among the greatest players in Magic history not because of his...
