Many people were shocked to find out during their lunch breaks Monday afternoon that longtime Lakers owner Jerry Buss had passed away after his long fight with cancer. Buss touched many lives since purchasing the Lakers in 1979. The purchase price of $67.5 million was the largest transaction in sports history at the time. Buss produced 10 championships for the Lakers during his reign and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010. Athletes and celebrities around the country shared their condolences and memories on Twitter after hearing the news. Check out the Storify below to see some recent athlete and celebrity tweets.
