Tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m. EST, the Magic will square off against the current number one team in the league, the Los Angeles Clippers. This will be the two teams' first meeting of the season. The Clippers are looking to extend their franchise-record home winning streak to 14, part of a larger winning streak that has culminated in 20 wins in just 22 games. On the other hand, the Magic are looking to break the 10 game slide that they are currently on. After blowing a 9 point 4th quarter lead in Denver on Wednesday night, the Magic are entering this game without many people's positive expectations. They have consistently lost games with 4th quarter let-downs since Glen Davis was injured nearly a month ago. Too many ill-advised jumpshots have impaired the Magic's ability to produce a steady offense in the 4th quarter. Throughout the first three quarters, the Magic are actually a fantastic passing team, with 22.9 assists per game, good for 7th best in the league. They do best when their wing players are slashing and kicking the ball around. When they fail to play inside-out for long stretches, their offense inevitably stagnates. It can be argued that the Magic's lack of late-game production is based on their current injury situation. The Magic will likely be without Hedo Turkoglu, E'Twaun Moore, Glen Davis, and Gustavo Ayon for Saturday's game. The Clippers have also had injuries this season, but they are so loaded with talent and depth that it is hasn't slowed their ability to produce efficient scoring. Grant Hill and Chauncey Billups are still out, while Jamal Crawford and Lamar Odom are currently listed as day-to-day. Chris Paul is arguably the best point guard in the entire league and he will look to exploit the Magic's poor-defensive point guards. The Clippers are currently 6th in points per game, 4th in points allowed, and 2nd in assists. It is time for the Crystal Ball predictions game, the third and final contest of the week! Remember, the winner is chosen by cumulative POINTS at the end of the week, not by games won. All results will be posted to the Crystal Ball Leaderboards page. There have been a few changes made to the scoring system, so please take note of those. This is the first meeting of the season, so there will be no boxscore to reference. Good luck! How many points will the Magic score? A correct response will be worth three points. If you guess the winner correctly, regardless of the score, it is worth an additional point.
