On Wednesday night, the Orlando Magic (13-24) will host the Indiana Pacers (23-15) at the Amway Center. The Magic suffered arguably their worst loss of the season to the Washington Wizards on Monday, losing 91-120. For a team that was thought to hang their hat on defense, the Magic definitely dropped the ball by allowing the league's worst offensive team to put up 120 points. Everything that was good about the Magic during the first half of December is quickly fading. They have a bottom 10 defense and a bottom 5 offense. The season has not been without its positives. Jameer Nelson is having a very solid season and Nik Vucevic has become a double-double machine. Also, the rookies are getting significant minutes due to a plethora of injuries plaguing the veteran players. J.J. Redick and Arron Afflalo have been good, but not consistently so. People will say that their averages are up this season, but so is their usage. The fact of the matter is that the Magic are struggling to fin...

Road-weary Magic dominated in D.C.

The schedule is never an excuse for a loss. Everyone plays whatever the schedule makers give them whether they want to or not. The schedule does not care if you had to travel 2,668 miles a few days earlier. When the schedule says you play, you play. It cannot be used as an excuse -- each game still counts the same and each game starts at 0-0 with the chance to win in the next...

Magic's 3-point barrage buries Pacers

ORLANDO - The Indiana Pacers have built their surprising success this season on the ability to defend, and particularly on defending the 3-point shot. Their strategy was blown apart Wednesday night. The Orlando Magic torched the Pacers 97-86, using a flurry of 3-point shots to roll through the NBA's top-rated defensive team. The Magic hit a season high 12 3-pointers, the...

Roy Hibbert paid Pacers backups $100 each for keeping Bobcats under 80 points

The Indiana Pacers take great pride in their defense, otherwise they would not be ranked 1st in the NBA with only 88.9 points allowed per game. It takes more than just a starting five to play great team defense, and Roy Hibbert wanted to remind the Pacers reserve players of that on Tuesday night by giving them an incentive late in the game. With Indiana holding a comfortable lead...
