Although Stephen Curry has established himself as one of the best point guards in the league and the Warrior’s best player, he has also established himself as the most turnover prone. Curry will enter tonight’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers leading the league in turnovers with 6.3 per game. ESPN is reporting that Warriors head coach Mark Jackson has become vocal about his turnovers even calling them “unacceptable”. “He understands that he has to be better,” Jackson said, according to CSNBayArea.com. “He understands that if we are going to achieve our vision, he’s got to take care of the basketball.” Curry is leading the team in points and assists throughout the first three games averaging 23.3 points and 9.0 assists but if he does not get his turnovers under control Jackson has no problem pulling him despite his offensive productivity. “What will not happen is [me] taking him out,” Jackson told the website.” Curry who has only averaged three turnovers a game throughout his career admits that he is trying to do too much and needs to play smarter. “[I'm] just trying to do too much, thread the needle,” he said. “I’ve been studying film, trying to get better, and I’ll continue to do that. “I’ve got to play smarter. Sometimes, getting a shot up is better than trying to thread a needle when it’s not necessary.”
